Mike Pyle defeats Ricardo Funch by TKO. The stoppage came at 1:22 in the first round.
Mike Pyle pawed out several punches to try and find his range early. Funch clinches up and landed a huge punch on the exit. Straight right hand landed flush for Mike Pyle and he followed it up with punches that dropped Ricardo Funch. Several unanswered punches and referee Mario Yamasaki was forced to step in and stop the fight. Mike Pyle played up the role of the villain in his post fight celebration getting the Brazilian crowd to shower him with boos.
Ricardo Funch took the fight on short notice when Paulo Thiago was forced to drop out after an injury. Mike Pyle entered the fight 5-3 in the UFC after a TKO loss to Rory McDonald at UFC 133. He improves to 6-3 in the Octagon. Ricardo Funch's last UFC appearance was at UFC 115 in 2010. He is now 0-3 in the organization.
