The UFC's huge broadcast deal with Fox means that the bulk of live UFC coverage has now moved from Spike to the FX and Fuel networks. The first live card to air on FX will take place on Friday, January 20th in Nashville's Bridgestone Arena (as the poster above helpfully points out). The main event will see two top lightweight contenders looking to get back in the win column as Jim Miller will face off with Melvin Guillard. This will only be a three-round fight, despite Dana White stating last year that all main events will be five rounds. The prelims will be aired on Fuel after all. There have been many last-minute changes to this card, but here's how it looks right now (prelims are after the jump):
Jan 20th, live on FX from Nashville, TN:
Main Card:
Jim Miller (20-3) vs. Melvin Guillard (29-9-2)

Not a very good supporting card
Outside of the main and co-main.
But on the plus side – A UFC CARD WITH JON ANIK!!!
SSreporters - January 15, 2012
Did they say who the he’ll be announcing with? My guess is Florian.
Tim Bernier - January 16, 2012 via mobile
No but they did say "UFC fighter"
It could very well be rotational
SSreporters - January 16, 2012
Most likely be between Mir, Florian, and Bonnar right?
discoandherpes - January 16, 2012
No. Most likely is Franklin. Anik and Franklin has already done a test run together
yonsson - January 16, 2012
So did Florian, Mir, and Bonnar.
Florian may have even done two dry runs. Plus he filled in for Rogan at 134 and he is on UFC Tonight or the post fight show.
Tim Bernier - January 16, 2012
Florian is painful to listen to IMO
Bonnar is much more fun and went Full Ahnold in the fifth round of Henderson/Pettis. Mir is somewhere in between. I just don’t want to listen to Florian again.
BKdroid - January 17, 2012
florian is monotone
bonnar is exciting and fun
mir talks more about himself sometimes which is funny. or if he likes a fighter he seems to only talk about them
BIGNAT - January 19, 2012
I guess there might be some universe in which a Melvin Guillard fight is going to be decided in rounds four or five
but I can’t really imagine it.
some schmuck in texas - January 15, 2012
You tryin' to fade him?
775assassin - January 15, 2012 via mobile
if noting that he's a front runner is fading him, I guess so
some schmuck in texas - January 15, 2012
I want to pick Guillard by KO
But damn Melvin has lost 8 of his 9 defeats by submission, 7 of them via choke. That is inexcusable.
SSreporters - January 15, 2012
and miller has a damn good chin
benten20 - January 15, 2012
and is a solid boxer, and Guillards chin is suspect
POW - January 15, 2012 via mobile
Solid free fight card
Miller is going to sub Guillard though. Might get dropped but it’ll lead to a sub.
MaZZacare - January 15, 2012
Do we really need to be told in every single post that the new deal means content is moving to FX and Fuel?
Vegasexpat - January 15, 2012
Yes.
Tim Burke - January 15, 2012
WHAT
I demand you apologize for offending both his eyes and his sensibilities with that extra sentence of analysis.
If there is one thing I know about sports reporting, its never repetitive.
Stiff Jab - January 15, 2012
Whatever the results of their next fights
I’d love to see Dunham vs Miller in a five rounder somehow.
pdl - January 15, 2012
I think because PPVs and FOX are the ones with five round MEs
There is no way we will see a LW main event that is non-title unless Melendez is in the UFC.
SSreporters - January 15, 2012
blah
blah blah guillard blah blah blah fadin
Miller should be able to do the same thing Joe and Joe did, but I can also see him going down like Dunham and the wec veteran.
cager - January 15, 2012
miller is a better striker then Joe is me thinks
benten20 - January 15, 2012
Guys
I got a 46 for the last card, good or bad?
juanchoD - January 15, 2012
considering the low scores it was above average
benten20 - January 15, 2012
no more faith in melvin he loses focus to much
miller
neer
i don’t know the guy he is fighting but i have seen easton fight
barry
brenneman
nurmagomedov
fabricio camoes versus player 2
schafer
last two matches i have no clue
BIGNAT - January 15, 2012
First time I'll miss the prelims in a long time
:(
AwkwardBoner - January 15, 2012
I like how the UFC went directly against the NFL playoffs with a PPV headlined by a FW title fight
And then with no major sporting events on Saturday they book a FN show for Friday night.
SSreporters - January 15, 2012
I think most FX shows are going to be on Friday nights (along with the TUF live fights).
Tim Burke - January 15, 2012
That sucks
Chris Hall - January 15, 2012
Well the next FN in Australia is on Saturday
So maybe not.
If so, are they trying to exploit an historically dead night in sports or TV in general?
SSreporters - January 15, 2012
It’s on Saturday in Australia. Airs Friday night here.
Tim Burke - January 15, 2012
Crap I forgot about the time zone
SSreporters - January 15, 2012
As for the reasoning, I can see three reasons -
1. What you said.
2. They’re trying to compete with the WWE and kill the Smackdown rating (big longshot)
3. They’re rather not do them on Saturdays so they don’t have to compete with boxing.
Tim Burke - January 15, 2012
Damn you Civil War
Stiff Jab - January 15, 2012
This will be Pat Barry's last night in the UFC
Earl Montclair - January 15, 2012
No.
Morecraft isn’t good. Neither is Barry, but he is less not good.
halitosis - January 16, 2012 via mobile
Struve isn't good. Tim Hague isn't good
They only have to be good enough to get the fight to the ground. Morecraft can do that.
Earl Montclair - January 16, 2012
Pat Barry sang California Dreamin’ with Mirko Cro Cop though. Morecraft’s suckitude may cause him to explode when he stands across the ring from Barry.
MicahtheCynic - January 16, 2012
Morecraft can probably get a takedown and land some brutal ground and pound
Once the Strikeforce HWs move over both of these guys will be gone. Chad Griggs would crush Pat Barry.
SSreporters - January 16, 2012
I like Griggs, but I honestly don’t think he’s that good of a fighter, and I don’t see how he crushes Pat Barry. At least Barry has some technical skills in the standup, while Griggs is pretty much just a brawler.
chrisbboy82 - January 16, 2012
Barry has got some great stand-up skills
But he has no damn idea how to use them. And his killer instinct definitely sucks. Re-watching the Antoni Hardonk fight he clearly had Hardonk’s number and he spent so much time stalking and picking his shots.
SSreporters - January 16, 2012
He still beat up Hardonk pretty bad though and won. I just don’t see what Griggs has on Barry though. Barry already fought and beat someone similar to Griggs in Joey Beltran, so I don’t see why Barry would have that many problems against Griggs.
chrisbboy82 - January 16, 2012
that beltran fight i thought he lost that
he couldn’t stop beltran just kicking a leg shouldn’t get you a win. joey was banged up and was still going after barry.
BIGNAT - January 19, 2012
Pat Barry may suck but he dose it less than Morecraft
MaZZacare - January 16, 2012
you cant fade Pat
inthepipes - January 16, 2012
I just really don't want to see
World of Morecraft winning, same as I don’t want to see Nick “The Promise” Ring win.
Andy Anderson - January 16, 2012
..
Chris Hall - January 16, 2012
Imagine
Nick Ring’s voice spoken by Christian Morecraft.
UncleMax - January 16, 2012
I am bound by duty to rec this every time.
Don’t fade “The Promise.”
NickRingp4pGOAT - January 17, 2012
I heard guillard was the underdog
which is aight when miller is laid out sleeping they will realize how wrong they were
psychoblack - January 16, 2012 via mobile
I hope you're right pb... I hope you're right.
But guillard has got to keep his goddamn hands up and his head in the game for that to happen.
Not Hauser - January 16, 2012 via mobile
That
and he also needs to calm the fuck down! He’s too damn wild and cocky in the cage imo. He’s fast, powerful and athletic, but all it takes is one mistake to get ko’d or subbed.
SentientAndroid - January 16, 2012
Is Pat Barry full time at death clutch or does he train else where 2? I wish a team would grab him and mold him into the great fighter he could be… But he needs to develop that ruthless aggressive killer instinct all on his own… I like HD but he needs to play around less and wreck shop more…
RECE ROCK - January 16, 2012 via mobile
If guillard walks into the fight all 'skippy' and thinks they will just hand him a lw title shot after
Miller has other things planned.. i say this fight ends with a guillotine
elmojo - January 16, 2012
I’m really liking the turnaround of both Anthony and Brenneman, I think a fighter should fight every 3-4 months as long as they’re injury free.
SentientAndroid - January 16, 2012
Guillard I'm real happy for you and imma let you finish...
…but you’s about to be the greatest rear naked choked of all time.
