Nick Denis defeats Joseph Sandoval by TKO. The ending came at :22 seconds in the first round via elbows.
Nick Denis made his UFC debut tonight against one fight UFC veteran Joseph Sandoval. Denis fights out of Ontario, Canada and entered the fight 10-2 in his MMA career. The fight was over just as quickly as it began with Denis utilizing a single collar tie to control Sandoval's posture before landing three elbows to the head. It was the third elbow that connected directly behind Sandoval's ear and ended the Texan's night prematurely.
Sandoval is now 6-2 in his MMA career. He entered the UFC as an undefeated prospect against Walel Watson at UFC on Versus: Cruz vs Johnson. This is his second loss in a row. Denis is now 11-2 in his MMA career and undefeated in the UFC. He adds much needed depth at bantamweight.
