Mike Easton defeats Jared Papazian by majority decision. The judges scored the fight 29-28, 30-27, 29-29.
Mike Easton entered the cage fired up and mean-mugging Jared Papazian from across the cage. To Papazian's credit, he didn't back down and mean-mugged right back. From then on the two fighters fought inside the pocket trading hooks and uppercuts. It was reminiscent of Don Frye vs Takayama back in PRIDE. Easton utilized a very tight defense and slipped multiple punches on the inside.
Papazian held his ground landing several leg kicks and power punches that all did damage to the fighter from Washington, D.C. It was three rounds of stand-and-bang with no attempts at putting the fight on the ground.
Mike Easton improves to 2-0 in the UFC and 12-1 in his career. Jared Papazian drops to 14-7 (1) and is now 0-1 in the UFC. He was making his UFC debut.

Did I hear florian say Papazian is a blue belt
While Easton a black belt!
Why didn’t he really try to take him down where he would have, in theory anyways sub’d him easily?

if it's possible
For a fight to be exciting and boring this one was. Lots of action no damage. Maybe I’m being too critical?

Wish the fight was more like the start
If the whole fight was mini-Frye vs. Takyama, no one would complain.

This should have been the FOTN
In my opinion Easton and Papazian put on the show of the card and should have been rewarded with the Fight of the Night bonus for their performances.

certainly
exactly the kind of fight that usually gets the bonus too
