UFC On Fox 2 Video: Dana White Releases Second Video Blog

Dana White's second video blog for UFC On Fox 2 has been released.

Dana White's second video blog for UFC On Fox 2 has been released.

It took five days but the UFC released a new Dana White video blog Friday, documenting the behind-the-scenes of Thursday's pre-fight press conference as we lead up to UFC On Fox 2 Saturday.

Some highlights of the nearly eight minute long clip:

  • Behind the scenes with White going on Fox's Good Day Chicago with associate Marty Cordova struggling to take a video of him.
  • White runs down how people can watch the prelims on Fuel TV and the main card on Fox.
  • He explains how he's flying to Brazil for several days to film TUF Brazil and that they're working out how people in the U.S. get to see it.
  • We get a look at a frantic few minutes before the press conference with White saying how he hates starting pressers late, some interaction with Chael Sonnen about shoes and opponents awkwardly standing next to each other as they're about to go out on the dais.
  • There's plenty of presser footage including Evans and Davis verbally jousting about wrestling, Sonnen doing wacky promos with the fake belt and the usual square offs.

There is no mention or reference to any of the recent issues White has had with "the Internet." Watch the whole clip after the jump.

Phil Davis standing next to Rashad. Yeesh.

I don’t know that I’ve ever agreed so whole-heartedly w/ a Diaz brother about a topic the didn’t have do do with marijuana, but holy crap, trying to be cordial to a guy you’re about to beat up with all your might seems, uh, uncomfortable at best..

Chael is a riot.

I love it. I would pay for this card.

Will the Ultimate Fighter Brazil have the same live format as the next american season?

Or will it be like the Spike seasons?

I don’t think we know yet. The UFC probably just figured it out for themselves. All I know is that this is going to be awesome.

I can't even lie

and i’m ashamed to admit this. I’ve been one of the biggest “fuck you Chael Sonnen you fucking fuck” guy around, but the belt thing is fucking great!

In the late 90's

I was living in San Diego taking BJJ classes. My buddy had a little business next to a gym where a lot of young Brazilian MMA guys were training. I saw some of the craziest motherfuckers I have ever met, I mean those guys didn’t give a fuck about anything or anyone. Some were crazy religious, others just wanted to fight, fuck, or party, like 20 year-olds straight out of the favelas. At the same time I lived above a household of Capoeira dancers with a beautiful girl who spoke Portuguese. I had many, many adventures with these colorful characters and all this is to say that if you thought TUF households got crazy in the US, you have not seen anything yet. It may not end up this way, but there is every possibility that shit goes completely fucking batshit crazy if they keep the same “lockem up in a house with nothing to do but train and talk smack” format.

My experiences left me with a deep, deep love and affection for Brazilians, (and their great food and ability to party) as well as a healthy dose of … well head on a swivel alertness to be honest. I can’t remember waiting for a freaking TV show with as much anticipation. I only hope that their translators are not totally and completely mangling what is actually said and they get someone who is good with idiom and metaphor. I expect fireworks, drama, and hope there isn’t major disaster.
