Las Vegas TV station Fox 5 Vegas has a cute little story about UFC president Dana White making a personal visit to one Julie Breeler. Breeler is the unfortunate woman whose phone number was posted by hackers as Dana's information last week after White challenged hackers to attack him and the UFC again. That challenge followed hacker attacks on UFC.com in retaliation for their support of the defeated SOPA/PIPA legislation.

From the Fox 5 Vegas story:

Julie Breeler had already endured countless phone calls and emails after her personal information was posted online by hackers targeting Ultimate Fighting Championship President Dana White.

So when she got a knock at her door Sunday, she was understandably paranoid.

"I get my gun before answering the door," Breeler told FOX5 Monday. "I crack the door and say ‘Yes?' He says ‘Julie Breeler?' and I'm like ‘Yes.' He says ‘Hi, I'm Dana White!'"

This is Dana White at his best, personable, approachable, decent and real. Unfortunately the whole mess could have been avoided had he not challenged the hackers in the first place.

Video after the jump.

Oh yeah, White also said
“(I) went over and apologized for all the trouble caused by the online terrorists,” White told FOX 5 Las Vegas.

The apology is nice and warranted and I feel sorry for the lady, but this “Terrorist” thing is ridiculous.

This UFC vs. Anonymous thing isn’t over yet, either. In fact, one just stemmed about 2 hours ago between them and a Richmond PD police officer.

oh the heavens they are falling

How is it not terrorism?

An innocent, uninvolved woman had her phone number released and was harassed, because Dana White pissed off some hackers.

You have an interesting definition of terrorism
What do you consider terrorism?

They’re using fear as a weapon to exact political change.

there was no visit mentioned in that video.

Can’t someone from the UFC just tell all their mommies? They’re all like 11-14, right?

Way to break down those stereotypes, Internet!

I saw they released the same personal info on

The Fetritta Bros as they did Dana White and said something like “Your bosses mad Dana?”

Kind of cute how these hackers don’t like being called terrorists….and yet have no problem whatsoever terrorizing people to reach their goals.

so wait

when they said they posted dana’s personal information, actually they just posted the information of some random woman?

nice “hacking”

I think the bigger issue is how people who actually have been the victims of terrorism ...

… would feel about Dana White’s lazy attribution of the term to cyber vandalism. There is family out there of people lost in the twin towers, there’s family of those videotaped and beheaded, and family of those killed or severely wounded by car bombs.

Dana White’s misuse of the word terrorism belittles what the real victims of it have gone through.

Not all terrorist acts are equal but I can agree with this particular instance of these hacks not being terrorism

Other things like threatening/attacking companies, governement agency websites, etc are politically motivated and fall under the definition of terrorism though. They’re lucky they won’t be charged as such when they’re caught though.

Dana White compared the hackers to what happened on September 11th

When he spoke with Mauro Renallo. That is unequivocally and universally insulting.

Yeah I forgot about the 2nd video

That was a big dumbass moment for him, but he’s still not “wrong.”

Cyberterrorism is the use of Internet based attacks in terrorist activities, including acts of deliberate, large-scale disruption of computer networks, especially of personal computers attached to the Internet, by the means of tools such as computer viruses.

Sounds like Rollo might owe Julie a coffee, but at least she is now more educated about SOPA/PIPA.
ha!

That’s right, he called to educate him! Too funny,in a horrible way of course
