The Countdown to UFC 143 show will be debuting tonight on Fuel at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, and Bloody Elbow is the place to talk about it. It might be a tad underwhelming compared to your regular Countdown special due to the fact that the UFC has produced a Primetime series about the main event already, but that just gives them more time to focus on Fabricio Werdum vs. Roy Nelson and Josh Koscheck vs. Mike Pierce.
For those that are wondering, the final Primetime episode will air on Friday night, and we'll do a live discussion for that too. Why? We're cool like that.

Not even sure I can get it in Canada, I hope Sportsnet shows it
AHutch - January 31, 2012
I have sportsnet 1 in canada. Does that count? I get all fx and fuel tv ufc programming I think.

I caught the end of it.
It got me more hyped for the Nelson v Werdum fight… What’d you think, Nate?
LeDuc - January 31, 2012
oddly enough
I liked the Mike Pierce part the best. now intrigued about that fight.

i don't see much point in running the countdown on Fuel
might as well do time buys on networks people watch. Fuel is a great place to put low cost content they were generating anyway— weigh ins, prelims, international shows — but serves no purpose as a place to air a 30 minute ad for a ppv. not having the countdowns on spike will cost them a lot of buys. too bad they couldn’t get FX to air the countdowns. Fox is too savvy for that.
Kid Nate - January 31, 2012
Yeah
who the heck even has Fuel tv
Frank Lee - February 1, 2012
How many people watched the countdown shows on Spike vs those on Fuel? Do we have these numbers anywhere?
Shnak - February 1, 2012
dude it's murderous
The Countdowns on Spike TV usually did 500K viewers (and sometimes much more). The first Countdown on Fuel TV did 15K. I’m not shitting you.
Kid Nate - February 1, 2012
Ouch! 15k?
I see the UFC buying a few commercials on other channels to advertise their PPV’s… talking about that, I did see a commercial for their PPV while watching something last night, can’t remember what show or what channel though… I thought it was interesting as I couldn’t remember the last time I had seen a commercial for one of their PPV’s on a non-sports channel.

One of the biggest problems in the whole fox deal
Is committing to put a lot of content on Fuel TV when it’s not in very many homes/campuses. I’m sure the college demographic is a top demographic for the UFC and I dunno how many Universities are paying to have Fuel Tv as apart of their campus cable package. I know my University isn’t. But we sure do have Fox and FX. Anybody else think that UFC loses viewers now that they have you switching to multiple channels for fights(casual fans, not hardcores)?
milliondollardreams - February 1, 2012
for weigh ins and prelim fights
that they were putting on Facebook it doesn’t matter. Its just the stuff that used to go on Spike and has been moved to Fuel that hurts. Although I think Fuel TV is a great place for International UFCs.

I love me some matt brown

FUEL is a joke. I’ll say it again, it was the “quid pro quo” part of the FOX deal for Zuffa.
