The UFC's huge broadcast deal with Fox means that the bulk of live UFC coverage has now moved from Spike to the FX and Fuel networks. The first live card to air on FX will take place on Friday, January 20th in Nashville's Bridgestone Arena (as the poster above helpfully points out). The main event will see two top lightweight contenders looking to get back in the win column as Jim Miller will face off with Melvin Guillard. This will only be a three-round fight, despite Dana White stating last year that all main events will be five rounds. It appears that the undercard will be streamed live on Facebook, as opposed to being aired. There have been many last-minute changes to this card, but here's how it looks right now (prelims are after the jump):
Jan 20th, live on FX from Nashville, TN:

Neer vs Ludwig
Epic slugfest or technical decision?
Machiel Van - January 5, 2012
I predict...
violence.
John Danaher's Hair - January 5, 2012
Epic slugfest
Although a sneaking suspicion Neer might want to take this to the ground.
SSreporters - January 5, 2012
Both
Horselover Fat - January 6, 2012
I hope they move Brenneman vs Roberts or Jimmo vs Vemola to the main card.
DodgerFan86 - January 5, 2012
Brenneman vs. Roberts has a pretty high chance of being so boring the world would stop.
I want to see Shalorus on the main card because…well…I need reassurance he’s alive, because his name wasn’t even uttered after the Miller whipping.
SSreporters - January 5, 2012
Speaking of Roberts
Apparently the library system in my country carries UFC DVDs, including Ultimate Knockouts 8 in which Roberts vs. Howard is one of the fights included.
UFC Best of 2010, Ultimate Heavyweights, and KOs 8 are all in the system. MAINSTREAM!
SSreporters - January 5, 2012
country = county
SSreporters - January 5, 2012
That's a pretty hip public library.
Snatchl - January 6, 2012
That's a bad "fight card" photo of Brenneman.
It makes him look cross-eyed, as if they took the pic immediately after Rumble’s foot cracked him in the face.
Machiel Van - January 5, 2012
met brenneman at an mma expo in nyc
Really cool and down to earth guy so ill be rooting for him for sure.
benten20 - January 6, 2012 via mobile
Yeah.. Brennemann and Roberts are two fighters I'm extremely indifferent about
No interest at all in seeing that one.
Horselover Fat - January 6, 2012
Vemola is going to dismantle Jimmo.
Diz D - January 6, 2012
Beyond the main event and co-main
That’s a pretty horrible card. Barry vs. Morecraft on the main card is a joke.
SSreporters - January 5, 2012
Sometimes you just gota say "meh" to relevance
and “YUS” to fun!
hardlyworking - January 5, 2012
Think Morecraft gets cut if he loses?
Machiel Van - January 5, 2012
Loser needs to get cut
Because honestly I think Chad Griggs could beat both of these guys.
SSreporters - January 5, 2012
what about STANDANDBANG?
but seriously, i’m pulling for Barry on this one.
Victor Rodriguez - January 5, 2012
Might as well cut everyone in the division then because Griggs is a live dog against anyone. Anyone!
Shnak - January 6, 2012
It's actually one of the worst main cards I can remember. Maybe THE worst.
T.C. Engel - January 5, 2012
This 32 events thing ain't gonna work out
Unless they sign better fighters and more prominent prospects.
SSreporters - January 5, 2012
Concur.
T.C. Engel - January 5, 2012
Well
there are only three fights on it at this point, soe we should give it a second. I actually think the main and the co-main are pretty great fights. The winner of Guillard-Miller will put himself right back in the mix at LW, Neer and Ludwig are both game as hell, and frankly, Pat Barry is never involved in boring contests.
For a free TV card I think it is solid to strong, actually.
Dave Strummer - January 5, 2012
Barry vs. Beltran was kinda ugly
At least until the 3rd when he nearly kicked Beltran’s leg off.
SSreporters - January 5, 2012
I just meant as far as divisional relevance. The headliner is still a long ways off from a title, Bang/Neer is MILES away, and while Barry is funny and fun to watch, he’s losing relevance rapidly. Basically, it’s a fun card, but not a high quality one.
T.C. Engel - January 5, 2012
I don't think the Main is nearly as far away from title contention as your saying
The former logjam at LW has really been cleared up with the falling of GSot, Miller, Guillard. The winner of this may only need one more win to get a title shot.
Chris Hall - January 6, 2012
I think Nate Diaz and Pettis both get shots before the winner of this at the absolute least.
But yeah, I didn’t really think about that. How weird would it be if Miller won six in a row without a shot, then wins two in a row and gets one.
T.C. Engel - January 6, 2012
I think that's exactly what's gonna happen
Pettis himself is only on a one fight win streak, Lauzon streak is longer, but the only high quality win is Guillard. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a title eliminator between the Pettis/Lauzon winner and Guillard/Miller winner.
Chris Hall - January 6, 2012
Unless Guillard and Lauzon win, in which case Lauzon just stays warm.
But I’d love to see Pettis vs. Guillard. Shit, would that be a dope scrap.
T.C. Engel - January 6, 2012
I agree.
’Nuff said.
glib_mf - January 6, 2012
Miller, Barry, Guillard, Brenneman, Rivera, Shalorus all on what is the new version of the Fight Night? I think that’s pretty decent overall.
KGNLuc - January 6, 2012
I was talking just main card.
In which case it’s a fucking terrible card.
T.C. Engel - January 6, 2012
Damn first of many cards I’ll no longer be able to see now that SPIKE is done and FX and Fuel aren’t available in Canada :(
williambonney - January 5, 2012
I'm sure that UFC will work out deals in Canada to show those events
SSreporters - January 5, 2012
They will likely air on Sportsnet.
Tim Burke - January 5, 2012
It will air on sportsnet for sure. They r already advertising it during ufc connected.
GSP_RAMPAGE_COUTURE - January 5, 2012 via mobile
Cool
Tim Burke - January 5, 2012
You should be fine. I’m pretty certain the FOX deal is exclusive to the U.S.
Machiel Van - January 5, 2012
In this regard, it probably makes it easier that FOX didn’t take control of the production.
Machiel Van - January 5, 2012
um nope. watched Cain vs jds in the middle of Alberta with glee plastered on my face. we get fox guy
mattsterguy - January 5, 2012 via iPhone app
I think he means that in the US, only Fox or Fox affiliates can air the UFC. In Canada, it can be aired outside the scope of Fox.
Tim Burke - January 5, 2012
the only things we wont get are the marathons, best of's, unleashed, primetime, etc.
we will still get every card.
sklart - January 5, 2012
Not a bad card
A hell of a lot better than the fight night card in new orleans with the overhyped jake shields
spider webb - January 5, 2012 via mobile
Not even close to as good as that card.
The match ups might not have been as good, but that card had a top 10 MW, a top 10 FW, and two top 10 WWs. This has two top 10 LWs and shit all else.
T.C. Engel - January 5, 2012
Outside of the main even, can we call this
The card of “how the hell do you still work here?”
Adam Reichental - January 5, 2012
Pre-psychoblack Guillard support
Guillard takes this within two rounds. Maybe one.
halitosis - January 5, 2012 via mobile
not if it hits the ground, homie.
if that happens, Miller gonna be all up in dat ass.
Victor Rodriguez - January 5, 2012
Unless Guillard gasses horribly, or shoots for no reason
It’s not hitting the ground, or at least not staying there.
GuillardTDD.gif
halitosis - January 5, 2012 via mobile
Remember though, Lauzon and Stevenson dropped him with punches, and Miller himself dropped Duane Ludwig with punches.
Jeffrey McCrum - January 5, 2012
To be fair, it appears Melvin struggles against guys named Joe
SSreporters - January 5, 2012
Or anyone with monosyllabic first names
Sheeit!!!
But yeah, if Guillard guards his face he easily takes this fight.
halitosis - January 5, 2012 via mobile
I just realized
If Guillard beats Miller we would have Neer > Guillard > Miller > Ludwig…
But Neer vs. Ludwig is on this card too so we could have Ludwig > Neer> Guilard > Miller > Ludwig and shatter MMAth once and for all!
SSreporters - January 5, 2012
Slap yoself
MMAth can’t be faded
KGNLuc - January 6, 2012
Miller also dropped Ben Henderson with a punch.
discoandherpes - January 6, 2012
Guillard gets taken down all the time. He’s just very good at getting up.
Tim Burke - January 5, 2012
Im talking the "new" Guillard
I only remember him getting taken down by Dunham after a bunch of failed attempts.
halitosis - January 5, 2012 via mobile
Ronnys Torres, Waylon Lowe, Gleinson Tibau. There is no “new” Guillard in my eyes. Lauzon showed that he’s the same old Guillard as before.
Tim Burke - January 5, 2012
Wow.
If Im going to call myself a devoted Guillard fan I should brush up on my facts. Come to think of it, I barely remember the Tibau fight, and sorta remember the Torres fight for the ice drop.
But I must disagree with you on the “new” Guillard thing. I think that he has reinvented himself, and he’s working on his weaknesses. The Lauzon fight was just an off night, not knocking Joe’s performance, but I really think it was a mental lapse and it will just make Guillard learn to fight safer. Its not even like it would make his fights boring, he just needs to compose himself.
halitosis - January 5, 2012 via mobile
I may or may not have scored that Torres fight for Ronnys.
SSreporters - January 5, 2012
Tibau too.
Tim Burke - January 5, 2012
Don’t get me wrong, I think he’s a talented dude, one of the most naturally talented lightweights in the world. But I don’t really see his stint with Jackson’s changing much of his game in the cage. It’s all about mental clarity for Melvin, and while I agree that it was an off night mentally against Lauzon and that’s probably what caught him, I really don’t think he can overcome his own arrogance long enough to earn a title shot. And I actually like the guy. Just callin’ it how I see it.
Tim Burke - January 5, 2012
I can definitely see where you're coming from
But I really think that with Greg’s help, Melvin can get his act together. I think Greg is one of the best in the business at giving his fighters the advice they need, in and out of the cage. Guillard still is young and can mature, and I think that fight with Lauzon really affected him for the better. The next time he loses, it will be to an opponent that was simply more skilled than him. That man’s name is not Jim Miller.
halitosis - January 6, 2012 via mobile
I think Miller is supremely talented. I guess we’ll find out in a few weeks. : )
Tim Burke - January 6, 2012
But the Lauzon-thing really looked like it was more an arrogance-problem than anything else…which I realize is also a “old Guillard” issue. But in terms of ability he really did seem improved lately.
KGNLuc - January 6, 2012
I have my tickets bought. Not the best card in the world, but I am still excited. Oh, and Easton is going to be fighting Jared Papazian now, according to a few sites.
Jeffrey McCrum - January 5, 2012
Jared who?
SSreporters - January 5, 2012
King of the Cage champion, decent prospect
Jeffrey McCrum - January 5, 2012
decent prospect at flyweight, he’s had some good success at BW lately, but he’s not big enough for 135 in UFC
Robert V-U - January 6, 2012
I'll be there as well
Fuck it. I’ll have fun while everyone else shits all over the card.
Joben - January 5, 2012
I look forward to Alves vs. Alves
He has so many opponents that night, he’s even going after the great TBA
halitosis - January 5, 2012 via mobile
And guys-
FRIDAY not Saturday
halitosis - January 5, 2012 via mobile
just to bring the point home...
Victor Rodriguez - January 5, 2012
I knew this was coming
The only friday safe from her is next week, the 13th
halitosis - January 5, 2012 via mobile

YES that means MMA tonight
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ - January 6, 2012
oloolol got my wires crossed, shucks
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ - January 6, 2012
its
another 2 weeks til this card
Ben Bauman - January 6, 2012
Have they been advertising this card?
I haven’t seen any ads on Fox for it and I don’t watch FX.
HaterSlayer - January 5, 2012
I watch FX sometimes, and this card is advertised fairly often, as well as the new season of TUF.
Baby Wads - January 6, 2012
I’ve seen ads on fx
Chris Hall - January 6, 2012 via Android app
it would be great if the prelims were on Fuel.
not like they have any other truly compelling programming that doesn’t include MMA.
Victor Rodriguez - January 5, 2012
Guillard bout to make his comeback
miller is about to get tore up he’ll be lucky to make it out the 1st round against guillard.. Guillard gone come in this fight focused and mentally stronger miller don’t stand a chance he’s about to get ran through just like the rest of the lw division will once guillard beats miller
psychoblack - January 6, 2012 via mobile
i wanna see Mel rematch j-lau, that fight was a fucking disappointment
Robert V-U - January 6, 2012
i wish i had this much pride for my fallen asians
yellopanda - January 6, 2012
commenting like a baws, is psychoblack, Joe.
Rod Mapada - January 6, 2012
Would you say that Melvin is gonna pop off 2012 in a big way?
Uncle Red - January 6, 2012
Now far be it for me to cast doubt upon psychoblack
And as much fun as Guillard is when he’s really got his game on…
I’d just like to say that Miller is just not a guy that gets “ran through”. Which honestly is exactly what we all want. This could be, should be, a great fight, and I’d be happy for either guy to win.
hardlyworking - January 6, 2012
You wouldn’t say that Hendo ran through Jim Miller?
Shnak - January 6, 2012
he dominated yes
But there was never a time in the fight where I thought that miller is done and has no chance. I always felt miller could still pull this off and grab a sub or something you know? If you beat miller, you better be ready to go to war because it will be a damn war that’s for sure.
benten20 - January 6, 2012 via mobile
Can“t fade Guillard
Horselover Fat - January 6, 2012
Watching in the UK...
Sorry if this has been addressed, but does anyone know how i can watch this in the UK? Any Internet streams?
macknight - January 6, 2012 via mobile
i will never get tired of seeing Melvin “the guy who tested positive for COCAINE after a UFC fight” Guillard getting choked out.
it always makes my heart glow. remember the Guillard hype train up until his last fight?
b/c he blitzkrieg’d Dunham….then Lauzon knocked him down with a hook and tapped his ass in one round.
Priceless.
theworldsoldestsport - January 6, 2012
Gotta agree...
It was pretty funny to see how F A S T that hype train went off the rails.
Atomic Salmon - January 6, 2012
I agree. his interviews before th Joe fight were just asking for it.
He said he wasn’t worried about the KO. He wanted KO of the night. BWAHAHAHAHA!
