An interesting welterweight bout appears to be shaping up for the UFC on Fuel 2 card in Stockholm, Sweden on April 14th. MMAnytt.se reports that Siyar Bahadurzada will make his long-awaited promotional debut against Paulo Thiago in a welterweight bout that will likely be featured on the main card:
Brazilian Paulo Thiago is going to come to Sweden on April 14 and show up at the Globe Arena in Stockholm to participate in the UFC on Fuel TV 2 when he meets Siyar Bahadurzada, which MMAnytt has been able to confirm during the evening.
Both Thiago and Bahadurzada were supposed to be fighting different opponents on next weekend's UFC 142 card in Rio, but injuries sidelined both men, and they'll now face each other in Sweden. Thiago was a huge fan-favorite on the last Rio card in August, where he won a unanimous decision over David Mitchell. Bahadurzada, who trains in Amsterdam at Golden Glory, was most recently seen by fans on the 14th season of The Ultimate Fighter where he was a striking coach on Jason Miller's team, but he hasn't seen actual fight action since last May when he won the Ultimate Glory welterweight GP.
Paulo Thiago (14-3)
W David Mitchell (unam. decision) - UFC 134
L Diego Sanchez (unam. decision) - UFC 121
L Martin Kampmann (unam. decision) - UFC 115
Siyar Bahadurzada (20-4)
W Tommy Depret (TKO) - Ultimate Glory 14
W John Alessio (TKO) - Ultimate Glory 13
W Derrick Noble (TKO) - Ultimate Glory 12

Awesome fight
Tough debut for Siyar, but awesome fight.

I think Siyar has this. Paulo has effective, but somewhat sloppy striking, and I think Siyar finds his chin consistently, but not sure if he’s gonna be able to get the TKO here, Paulo is a tough SOB
Robert V-U - January 6, 2012
You wanna talk about wild and sloppy?
Siyar doesn’t exactly throw strikes straight as an arrow himself.
ElliotMatheny - January 6, 2012
I think he has a lot more power/technique than Paulo
Robert V-U - January 6, 2012
Paulo is about a 1000 times better on the ground.
I think Siyar is about to learn the difference between fighting in Europe/Japan and fighting in the UFC.

Just like the Reem learned
Robert V-U - January 6, 2012
Could be,
but it’s a weird comparison because Baha is more of a brawler himself.
ElliotMatheny - January 7, 2012
FUCK YES This needs to be the main event
lol @ Stann/Sakara

...This ain't a main event caliber fight either. It's awesome, but ME? Please.
And this card is airing live on FUEL, no tape delay, that’s a quick way to ensure no more than 50,000 viewers for the live show.
SSreporters - January 6, 2012
neither is the main event derpity doos
Gustafsson is obviously going to headline against someone. Likely either lil Nog or Thiago Silva.
mcpeepants23200 - January 6, 2012
What happened was Junkie actually wrote that Stann/Sakara would be the main event
SSreporters - January 6, 2012
mistakes were made
Robert V-U - January 6, 2012
sometimes these things happen in mma
Diz D - January 6, 2012
it's more main event caliber than Stann/Sakara or anything else on the card.
Rob Young - January 6, 2012
I wouldn’t be so sure it’s not going to be tape delayed
Chris Hall - January 7, 2012
What do you mean?
They’ve announced it will air live in the US. Is there reason to believe they’d go back on their word?

Wonder who will get the name right on the broadcast
between Rogan, Goldie and Buffer.
The Blackula - January 6, 2012
Jon Anik and a UFC fighter will be doing commentary on FX events and FUEL cards
Goldie and Rogan are only doing PPV events
SSreporters - January 6, 2012
Why is the UFC punishing its paying customers by subjecting us to Goldberg?
MS_Dos_Santos - January 6, 2012

The Armchair Juggernaut - January 7, 2012 via mobile
i hope for Thiago
I dont like the way Siyar carries himself out of the tweets of his i have read … this was a dissappointment of mine but of course that 2 minutes in the Ultimate Fighter doesnt tell much about anyone..
