Dana White was on ESPN 1100 in Las Vegas and dropped some very interesting news about programming. The Ultimate Fighter Brazil is set to air on Fuel TV according to the UFC president.
"The UFC has so much content that even Spike, if you look at what a huge percentage of their content we used to be, we still needed more," White said. "The Ultimate Fighter Brazil will air on Fuel TV. All this unique content that we're doing in other parts of the world, Fuel TV is going to take. I've been saying for the last six months, if you're a UFC fan and you really love the UFC, it's impossible not to have Fuel."
It will be interesting to watch the show and see how much they stick to the formula of the American broadcast for the international seasons or if each will have its own distinct flavor.
The season is set to be coached by Brazilian MMA stars Vitor Belfort and Wanderlei Silva.

Any word if Sportsnet will show this in Canada?
Shnak - January 9, 2012
Wouldn’t count on it. It will almost certainly be subtitled.
smoogy2 - January 9, 2012
So, you’re saying Sportnet wouldn’t want to show this TUF season because it’ll likely be subtitled? Well that’s a stupid reason.
Shnak - January 9, 2012
FUCKING COMCAST
Charles Awad - January 9, 2012
I hate Comcast
Andy Anderson - January 9, 2012
It's hard to hate on Comcast here when taking some business considerations into account.
They own NBC/Universal, and have rebranded Versus as “NBC Sports.” FOX is trying to push FUEL as a sports channel. Why would Comcast make an effort to help grow a fledgling FOX owned property that could directly compete with NBC Sports? I wouldn’t. It sucks for MMA fans, but the only way I see Comcast adding FUEL is if A LOT of people cancel their accounts and cite that as the reason. I doubt it (have any of you gone this far?).
Machiel Van - January 9, 2012
Well maybe the content company shouldn't own the content delivery company
and if it does, it shouldn’t abuse it’s position since cable is a government protected monopoly in many areas
the Cobras - January 9, 2012
You do realize they can't interfere with competitive programming, right?
They will be in deep shit if they do.
Charles Awad - January 9, 2012
1. Comcast doesn’t offer FUEL.
2. There is a reason why.
3. They will not publicly state the reason, so we’re left with conjecture.
4. Come up with a better reason than I did.
Machiel Van - January 9, 2012
Yes, they do
It’s on a paid tier because, until now, it’s been a shit station. Seriously dude?
Charles Awad - January 9, 2012
No they don't.
Hence all the Comcast users complaining, starting petitions, etc. It’s a paid tier on some cable outlets, like SureWest. Comcast only has “FUEL ON DEMAND”, which is awful.
Machiel Van - January 9, 2012
On this very thread you see people complaining about how Comcast doesn’t carry FUEL. Hell, people are complaining on EVERY thread that has to do with content on FUEL.
Machiel Van - January 9, 2012
Also, not offering FUEL on their own service platform isn’t “interfering with competitive programming,” there are plenty of platforms that FUEL can negotiate contracts with. They’re not obligated to offer it. It would be one thing if they stated outright that they are snubbing FUEL in favor of NBC Sports, but they’re staying mum. There are plenty of channels out there that are service-specific.
Machiel Van - January 9, 2012
Not true
Comcast has a monopoly in many areas. Customers can’t jump ship to a competitor if one doesn’t exist.
I think it’s still too early to say that this has anything to do with NBC Sports. There really hasn’t been a legitimate demand for Fuel until last week.
GeoDim - January 9, 2012
i have comcast and i get fuel
channel 184, just dont have it in HD
milk72 - January 9, 2012

Machiel Van - January 9, 2012

milk72 - January 9, 2012
That’s interesting though. I wonder why they would only offer it in certain markets.
Machiel Van - January 9, 2012
They offer it in certian areas but not down here.
Well, I haven’t called about it yet actually.
dedstrk316 - January 9, 2012
I'm in Harrisburg, PA
Also have Comcast…. do not get Fuel. However I get Root Sports which has been airing some of Fuel’s UFC programming
LRaunThaDamaja - January 9, 2012

Time Warner(Road Runner) here.
I’m paying an extra $6.99 a month for Fuel and a couple other channels, I think.
Totally worth it.

I would pay for it if given the option.

I got pretty mad reading this
“I’ve been saying for the last six months, if you’re a UFC fan and you really love the UFC, it’s impossible not to have Fuel” … In the words of Mr. Trudeau “Oh, you piece of shit!”
ODBasyoucansee - January 9, 2012
i wonder what show will replace Blue Mountain State as the post TUF party show.....
Danny and The Dingo?
Ellismania?
The Daily Habit?
Earl Montclair - January 9, 2012 via iPhone app
I Carley.
Rutager - January 9, 2012
I had to stop watching Ellismania. The fights did not outweigh the douchebaggery of Jason Ellis.
mountaineers101 - January 9, 2012
your douchebaggery outweighs the fights!
Earl Montclair - January 9, 2012 via iPhone app
There are going to be some big future talents coming out of this. I’ll be very curious to see how many people show up for the tryouts
Disco1Stu - January 9, 2012
UGH!
I dont get FUEL TV !!!
Bigbub - January 9, 2012
Verizon only has Fuel in Standard Def, and UFC Tonight was shown as a small rectangular window, pretending to be HD. The nerve!
sexysassytravismmafan - January 9, 2012
i think it’s coming soon in HD. might take a while, but it’s still worth it.
Victor Rodriguez - January 9, 2012
Im tired of all these crybabies flooding my internets with the tears of unfathomable sadness. Either upgrade your television status or use nefarious means to watch it!
It is a really easy fix!
Earl Montclair - January 9, 2012 via iPhone app
Steal UFC product!!!???
For shame!!
Rutager - January 9, 2012
I love to nefarious, bro.
T.C. Engel - January 9, 2012
I'm one nefarious bastardo so it should be easy pickins
dedstrk316 - January 9, 2012
I live in Canada
I am not sure what will air on sportsnet but I really don’t care. I’ll find a way to watch it, I always do
1N87 - January 9, 2012
I guess this won't be on sportsnet for canada
like all the other ufc content that they put on weird channels? :(
Tats16 - January 9, 2012
oh wait
it looks it like it might be on sportsnet too.
hell yeah!
Tats16 - January 9, 2012
Really? Where did you see this?!
Shnak - January 9, 2012
It seems like they’re still trying to get contracts in place for Canada for all the FOX content. Canada is very important to the UFC, so expect deals to be reached soon.
Machiel Van - January 9, 2012

Comcast doesn’t carry fuel in san francisco

"If you really love the UFC"
Dana sounds like a chick blackmailing her boyfriend into watching a musical.
Matthi - January 9, 2012
Ummm
You could all just stream it or download it after it’s aired, it’s 2012.
jim-ma - January 9, 2012
I was just going to say the same
I’m guessing the fights won’t be live like the cruz/faber season so it’s going to be pretty easy to stay away from the results of the fights until you watched the episode.
that’s how I always watch TUF since we don’t get it where I live (well, we do but the episodes and seasons are all fucked up, shown late at night at random hours, no one can keep track).
the guy with the big nose - January 9, 2012
long shot
Any word on showing this in the UK? Or the FX events for that matter?
Our Bovine Public - January 9, 2012
I’d not get your hopes up, in all honesty.
forkboy - January 9, 2012
Will Orcus translate for us for the entire season? =P
With all the subtitles, they could take a lot of liberties to what’s really going on..
BrandtShaft! - January 9, 2012
I hope we get to see this in the UK, too. I think Vitor and Wandy will make awesome coaches.
@KatanaClothing - January 9, 2012
comcast needs to add fuel asap

Speaking of Brazil.
mountaineers101 - January 9, 2012

El Pablo Diablo - January 10, 2012
DirecTv has Fuel
I’m so happy they got that Fox stuff handled.
fightersvizion - January 9, 2012 via mobile
I would love Munoz to get a shot at coaching at TUF
I dont know if Wandy can fight cautiously against a fighter who does his blitz asap.
they are going to fight arent they?
elmojo - January 9, 2012
I was wondering if they were going to fight afterwards as well. When I think about it I just keep replaying their fight in Pride where Vitor mows him down in highlight reel fashion. I kinda hope they don’t.
