Jason Miller may have broken the news a little earlier than planned, but it is now official. Yesterday, "Mayhem" tweeted out that he would be facing C.B. Dollaway at UFC 146. The tweet was then quickly deleted but the cat was pretty well out of the bag.
Now, the UFC has confirmed the fight on the promotion's website:
UFC president Dana White today confirmed the first fight - one between fan favorites - officially set for UFC 146, set to take place over Memorial Day weekend.
"Ultimate Fighter runner-up C.B. ‘The Doberman' Dollaway has verbally agreed to face recent Ultimate Fighter coach Jason ‘Mayhem' Miller in a middleweight bout at UFC 146 this May in Las Vegas,"
Miller put on a truly horrible performance against Michael Bisping at the finale of their season of The Ultimate Fighter and White's statements to that effect made it seem that "Mayhem" may have been one-and-done in the UFC. Instead, he'll get at least one more crack at things inside the Octagon.

WTF UFC?
YPG - February 19, 2012
came here to say that.
any cbd fans up in here?
gspmademegay - February 19, 2012
wow CB is still in the UFC? Might as well be a pink slip fight. Loser is getting fired imo
MMA_PITBULL - February 19, 2012
how much more fun would it be if they actually promoted that?
‘dolloway. miller. someones getting fired!’
gspmademegay - February 19, 2012
I guarantee more people would watch
Let’s tweet Dana
halitosis - February 19, 2012
i would, but im not a
twat, sorry-tweeter.but yeah-maybe if it went to decision the ref could give a pink slip to the loser, instead of raising the winners hand?
were onto something here.
gspmademegay - February 19, 2012
IDEA
Dana straps a chastity belt to the loser and tells him to get the fuck out.
halitosis - February 19, 2012
Lord knows he can't look any worst than against Bisping, gotta think he'll get the win here
WanderChe - February 19, 2012
now that miller isn't in the spotlight...
Following a long layoff, I expect to see a grappling clinic put on by mayhem
Sonnenmeister - February 19, 2012 via mobile
Lets hope for it
Maybe Mayhem can give doucheface his walking papers
Ryjo - February 19, 2012 via mobile
Happy they're giving Miller another shot.
Shit just got real.

interesting
thanks
Cunny - February 19, 2012
Did they just call CB Dollaway a "fan favourite"?
lol
Peter Nathaniel Fury - February 19, 2012
I really hope Mayhem wins
and I think he does training with Cesar Gracie now, but I have this terrible feeling CB wins after Miller gasses… during his entrance dance.
les rallizes denudes - February 19, 2012
He trains with Caesar Gracie?
dedstrk316 - February 19, 2012
train with cesar? after the brawl are you serious?

@UFC ‘Mayhem’ Miller is welcome at our gym for training. Life is too short to for grudges.
les rallizes denudes - February 19, 2012
HA!
Body Triangle - February 19, 2012
Wow that is so unexpected. I wanna see what Nick has to say about this
savik - February 19, 2012
Am I the only one who thinks that CB takes this?
Miller just doesn’t seem to have his head into actually fighting anymore. He looked like a complete amateur against Bisping (who is better then we give him credit for).
CB has enough wrestling to neutralize Mayhem’s bjj, and Mayhem is just awful standing..
I hate to say it, but I have a feeling that CB takes it.
Fedorable - February 19, 2012
I actually think that you aren’t too far off. Mayhem looks very clumsy with his standup and even his wrestling, but his BJJ is great. Granted, Dollaway lost his last two fights by TKO against Munoz (no shame in that) and Hamman (a guy that doesn’t seem to believe in defense). It’s a winnable fight for Mayhem, and as a fan favorite, I think people will pick him to win this one. However, Dollaway does have the skill to beat Mayhem as he looks to have stronger wrestling and seems to be the more natural athlete.
chrisbboy82 - February 19, 2012
If Miller can’t beat CB, he doesn’t belong in the UFC anyways.
jammin.. - February 19, 2012
It's good matchmaking however you slice it
I think it has the potential to be a good fight. CB is several steps below Bisping in terms of talent, and Mayhem should have less ring rust. Hopefully we get a good fight out of it. Should open up pretty even on the betting lines.
Dave Strummer - February 19, 2012
Good, reasonable bout for Mayhem to prove he deserves to stay in the UFC. We’ll see if the letdown against Bisping was just a mix of rust and nerves (and an opponent who probably would beat him 3 out of 4 times, anyway). He did a terrific coaching job on TUF, and it would’ve been unfair to cut him after one shot.
Beau Dure - February 19, 2012
I give credit to the UFC
It’s not everyday they get to make fun of one of their own fighters, and they took full advantage of it
Cory Braiterman - February 19, 2012
Miller Will Win This One
He Has The Ability To Dance With Some Of The Better Fighters…CB Is Not one of them
Melodic KO - February 19, 2012
Shit just got real.
Sugel Mendoza - February 19, 2012
The same Mayhem that showed up against Bisping
would still beat CB.
Akatalinich - February 19, 2012
Maybe Jason will bring cardio fir two rounds this time.
malo - February 19, 2012 via mobile
*for*
malo - February 19, 2012 via mobile
CB is a good submission grappler
But I think Mayhem has the edge on him.
discoandherpes - February 19, 2012
CB is good
But remember he is the same guy that got put to sleep by Tom Lawlor
IRodC - February 19, 2012
Mayhem looked so bad last time out.
I find it amusing that at one point he was calling out Diaz. If that Mayhem had showed up against Diaz, Diaz would have put a worse beating on him than Bisping did. That said, he should be able to beat CB. Should.
pud333 - February 19, 2012
Miller isnt an idiot
he just acts like one. he knows that cardio is why he lost against Bisping and he will almost certainly be alot better in that area for this fight.
what i remember from that fight is Miller taking a shit ton of shots and not even being phased. didnt Bisping collapse from exhaustion the second they called the fight? say what you want about his shitty cardio in that fight but Miller’s chin was fucking amazing.
Im calling a Miller win. if for no other reason than because i want to see him in the UFC again.
justsomehawkeyefan - February 19, 2012
Mayhem has always had an iron chin
Remember him laughing with a mouthful of blood against GSP? The thing I don’t understand is why his standup looked like a drunken fratboy’s. It looked bad early in the fight so I don’t think he can blame his poor cardio.
Pantherhare - February 19, 2012
It looked to me like he cut a lot of weight…even at 170 he didn’t look so drawn out…
saabstorey - February 19, 2012
This feels evenly matched to me, no clear cut favorite. I like.
mburtoni - February 19, 2012 via mobile
I like this fight.
I see Mayhem coming in focused and motivated and submit CB inside of two.
The Armchair Juggernaut - February 19, 2012 via mobile
A tough rebound fight from Joe Silva
Wrestling grinder with good submission offense & defense. I think Miller barely gets the decision here
The KO Kid - February 19, 2012 via mobile
He's not really a grinder and he's certainly doesn't have good sub defense
