With Wanderlei Silva and Vitor Belfort set to compete as coaches on the first season of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil and then expected to fight at UFC 147, it was inevitable that we'd see some trash talk kick off. The two fought all the way back at UFC Brazil in 1998 with Belfort getting a 44 second TKO win.
While Vitor won their first meeting, it's Silva that has gotten in the best pre-rematch shots via his Twitter.

this is one of the most mismatched fights the ufc has put together in a long time. belfort would really have to lay a stinker to not win this fight by KTFO. it’d still be a fun decision win for belfort, as vitor losing is not even a possible outcome for this fight.

I hate this fight as well, proves nothing for Vitor and will most likely end up with Wand losing some brain cells. Long time fans of Silva don’t want to see him take another bad KO and that is by far the most likely outcome. There’s nothing wrong with fans speaking out against this fight, it’s a shit match up and some fans actually care about the fighters safety.

That’s the thing. If Wanderlei still had a strong chin and hasn’t been knocked out a lot pretty recently, it wouldn’t seem like such a mismatch. However, he’s noticeably older, slower, and his chin looks to have deteriorated, while Vitor still has that hand speed and punching power.

Wanderlei fights guys he respects with strategy. Bisping, Cung Le, he stayed out of range, kicked a bit and only did his Wandy charge when there was 30 seconds left in the rounds.
He has more of a chance then no chance.

I have no idea why the UFC wanted the Vitor vs Axe Murder fight other than they are both huge stars in Brazil. One is a top 10 contender the other is …. umm a KO waiting to happen. I would have prefer seeing Lindell vs Wandy II at least the fans would know that the first one to connect will be the winner. I can honestly say if Vitor loses this could be the BIGGEST UPSET in the UFC.
