SBN coverage of UFC 143: Diaz vs. Condit

MMA Mania's Brian Hemminger took notes during the conference, here are some highlights, jump on over to Mania for the complete goodness including more from Dana White, Roy Nelson, Fabricio Werdum, Josh Koscheck and Mike Pierce:
Nick Diaz: I think Carlos is more of a dangerous fighter. You're more in danger of losing a decision to Georges St. Pierre and your more in danger of losing your teeth to Condit here.
Nick Diaz: (Regarding media coverage of GSP in the build to this fight) It makes me sick. This is Carlos' time to be here and to be a part of this main event. Half of this show is built up around me fighting Georges St. Pierre but I'm fighting Carlos Condit.
Dana White: Josh is one of the most booed fighters alive. Every time we call Josh Koscheck to fight or if we don't call him, Josh calls us. He's always ready to fight any time with no notice. No, we weren't thinking we'd get Koscheck to fight at 185 pounds but when a fighter falls out, you'll get a text from Josh about it.
Carlos Condit: I expect a war. honestly, Nick is probably the toughest dude I've ever fought. He's well rounded and has a dynamic skill-set. We both come to fight. No matter who wins between him and myself, the fans are going to win.

The BaldFather - February 2, 2012
Conduit!
mountaineers101 - February 2, 2012
I love how GSP still gets into UFC Primetime somehow, even when it isn’t his fight.
mountaineers101 - February 2, 2012
You're watching it right now too?
That is definitely interesting. Seems like they are trying to build up the Diaz/GSP match before it even happens
Mjub - February 2, 2012
Insert conspiracy theory here.

Take a bong hit then you will understand
Art_Wanderlei - February 2, 2012
If you don't hate it, then good luck trying to love the shit.
Rob Young - February 2, 2012 via mobile
Like marriage
If you don’t hate that bitch sometimes, you don’t really love her.
TheFilt - February 2, 2012
Poor Mike Pierce.
mountaineers101 - February 2, 2012
When does the press conference actually start?
IKiIIed007 - February 2, 2012
Whenever they find Nick
BrandtShaft! - February 2, 2012

IKiIIed007 - February 2, 2012

Our Bovine Public - February 2, 2012

Our Bovine Public - February 2, 2012
I didn’t know Matt Brown still was with the UFC. He has to be close to getting cut.
ANance - February 2, 2012 via mobile

FREE HARLEY!
NickaG - February 2, 2012
Nick wont have to drive his honda anymore.
The BaldFather - February 2, 2012
That's a damn good line
You’re more in danger of losing a decision to GSP. You’re more in danger of losing your teeth to Carlos.
crazybones - February 2, 2012
Roy is so gross
Afrotikiman - February 2, 2012

the guy with the big nose - February 2, 2012
Condit has a weird demeanour. Maybe its just that hes nervous
Our Bovine Public - February 2, 2012
Yeah, he looks awkward in that suit too
Shaun32887 - February 2, 2012
What kinda stupid question is that?
“So give your gameplan for this Saturday?”
Mjub - February 2, 2012
Hey soooo ummm will this winner fight GSP?
No, they will win the interim belt then BJ Penn is going to fight GSP again.
NickaG - February 2, 2012
I think he meant does Dana think they will both eventually fight GSP. I could be wrong but that’s how I took it
cletusvandam - February 2, 2012
Well, GSP’s boxing coach, Freddie Roach, said GSP would take a warm up fight before fighting Diaz or Condit. I don’t think that will happen but I understand why the question was asked.
memitim - February 2, 2012 via mobile
Theres no warm up fights in the UFC
So as a rule if you’re a champ its a bad idea to get hurt. Haha.
NickaG - February 2, 2012
Matt Hughes wants to fight again. That would be a good warm up. It was basically BJ’s as he returned to WW.
memitim - February 2, 2012 via mobile
I was saying that champs that go away for injury dont get warm ups. They come back and fight the number 1 contender.
NickaG - February 2, 2012
So now its Team KOS not AKA?
Where was that attitude when he was saying: “No no I will not fight Jon Fitch”?
Mjub - February 2, 2012
i think he recently opened his own place now.
not sure if he’s still reluctant to fight Fitch, mostly since they both came up in the sport together.
Victor Rodriguez - February 2, 2012
He actually has two of his own AKAs here in Fresno
hence, they announce him as fighting out of here
dajulzta - February 2, 2012 via Android app
If Werdum kept it standing
he prolly would have got knocked out.
Tats16 - February 2, 2012
So, then Werdum had the right gameplan?
memitim - February 2, 2012 via mobile
LOL Nick expounds on the love/hate thing
IKiIIed007 - February 2, 2012
Nick’s answers are the best
Tats16 - February 2, 2012
hahaha
Afrotikiman - February 2, 2012
Nick Diaz answer fan questions is the best thing I've ever seen.
Mjub - February 2, 2012
Werdum playing poker?
Says he’s got a strong hand
Skoobs - February 2, 2012
Everything I meant is in what I said.
-Nick Diaz
NickaG - February 2, 2012
Frazier has been up there for a bit now,
I think Nick’s love/hate quote should be the replacement.
SteveevaD - February 2, 2012
Fans say the dumbest things
Our Bovine Public - February 2, 2012
Whoa!
Nick shook Conduit’s hand! Its bizarro Nick!
BrandtShaft! - February 2, 2012
its 2012 shits gone crazy
itsnotthatserious - February 2, 2012
Respect goes a long way
and I truely believe Diaz appreciates the way Carlos opperates in the cage.
SteveevaD - February 2, 2012
Diaz is actually very respectful to opponents who don't talk crap
After he beat Sakurai, he spent a good amount of time genuflecting towards Mach. He was also very respectful to Zaromskis.
Pantherhare - February 2, 2012
Just about every fight the past few years he is extremely respectful to his opponent after the fight.
memitim - February 2, 2012 via mobile
I just watched that stream live on my iphone. Pretty cool. Didn’t know it was possible!
ANance - February 2, 2012 via mobile
Seriously, Nick Diaz shook Condit's hand....seems like a bad sign
Of course Carlos was very careful not to get in Nick’s face
Robust23 - February 2, 2012
? When does Carlos ever get into someone's face?
He’s all cool and class until the bell rings
Shaun32887 - February 2, 2012
Wait till the weigh ins.
memitim - February 2, 2012 via mobile
if not at the weigh ins, wait before the bell
itsnotthatserious - February 2, 2012
This^
The weigh-ins will be the starter, but the when they’re getting the refs instructions I expect a mean-mug-athon.
Kwisatz Haderach - February 3, 2012
I'd love to see Roy Nelson get squashed by Alistair Overeem
Robust23 - February 2, 2012
that would be the end of Roy as a HW
Kicked in the gut a few times by Reem might be enough of a motivator to slim the waist…or retire
merryprankster - February 2, 2012
Roy is too well ROUNDED for that
nyuck nyuck
Cocytus - February 2, 2012
Werdum is not yet at the level where he doesn't need a translator...
Robust23 - February 2, 2012
I understand him just fine. What's the problem?
Mjub - February 2, 2012
i didn't understand shit. Plus he clearly didn't understand Ariel's question
Robust23 - February 2, 2012
Roy Nelson looks like some medieval leader of a pack of marauding thieves.
either that, or some wannabe wizard.
Victor Rodriguez - February 2, 2012
He’s too well fed to be a brigand.
lolumad - February 2, 2012
Who's the homeless guy...
…next to Nick?
