The main event of tonight's card is a stellar battle for the UFC interim welterweight title with former Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz taking on former WEC welterweight champion Carlos Condit. The winner will likely face UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre later in the year. The co-main event is a heavyweight bout between Fabricio Werdum and Roy Nelson.

The UFC brass has to realize that they just lost out on their card of the year. They’re probably formulating a media strategy to save face. Can’t blame them.
I don’t exactly feel bad for them either, though. Brought the entire thing upon themselves with the direction in which they’ve steered the sport. Soccer mom MMA is how you succeed now.

it just bothers me that espn seems to say "oh the ufc was on tonight, lets throw one of their highlights at the top of the list"
i wouldnt have put the condit fight on the list. but, i definitely would have put the thompson knockout up there. if this is supposed to be a top 10 lists of sporting plays of the day, i dont understand how a dunk or a double play can be considered better than a ridiculous knockout.
